Huang-Lian-Shang-Qing-Wan (HLSQW) is a traditional TCM formula, which has been used extensively in TCM in treatment of upper respiratory infection symptoms and pneumonia.

Based on TCM doctrine this ancient remedy is associated with  detoxifying properties and is particularly effective in alleviating adverse symptoms in the upper body, such as inflammatory conditions in the upper respiratory tract.  In addition, herbal components found in this formula have also been reported to exert inhibitory effects on coronaviruses and to protect the body against an excessive inflammatory response leading to severe illness. This remedy is therefore particularly recommended in viral respiratory infections including Covid-19.

Based on the above properties Huanglian Shang Qing Wan is recommended in viral or bacterial respiratory infections such as Covid-19, Long Covid, Strep-A, flu, common cold and other influenza-like illnesses, in order to regulate the immune system response and relieve symptoms associated with upper respiratory infections such as:

• fever,
• cough,
• fatigue,
• sore throat,
• phlegm.
